The 6th class pupils have been working hard on their debating skills. They have completed two debates to date. Their first motion was
'iPads should replace all school books'. Both proposing and opposing teams argued some extremely valid points. Their second motion was 'pocket money should be earned and not just received'. It's fantastic to see such growth in each pupil. Debating enhances oral language, confidence in public speaking, voice projection and the ability to persuade and these skills are improving greatly even after just two debates.
Today the 1st of December we had a very special visit from members of the Irish Naval and defence forces. They spoke to us about the proclamation written in 1916, what it means to be Irish, and gave us information about our country flag. They presented the National flag to us and they even took the time to answer questions. The pupils sang Amhrán na bhFiann beautifully. A very special and memorable day. Well done to all.
6th class went to great efforts to create and design their very own unique handmade Halloween costumes. They all looked fantastic. Well done to everyone. 🎃👻
